Palliative Care

Offering comfort and support when curative treatment may not be enough

Coping with Illness is Difficult. We Can Help.

Warde Senior Living offers palliative care for individuals with serious long-term illnesses, and who are no longer seeking curative treatment.

Our compassionate staff is dedicated to promoting the dignity of life and reducing pain, stress and discomfort. We honor the individual’s wishes and work with their families to ensure the best possible care plan.

What is Palliative Care?

Palliative care is sometimes seen as interchangeable with hospice care, which is not really the case. Palliative care can be appropriate for people at any time during an illness, not just when they may be near the end of life.

Palliative care is best suited in cases of chronic disease or illness, in situations where symptoms can be managed or alleviated, allowing individuals to live their lives to the fullest.

Choosing Our Setting

Palliative care is specialized care that does not necessarily replace the primary treatment for an illness but can work with that treatment to prevent or ease pain and discomfort. Throughout these difficult times, our staff is dedicated to working with patients and families to improve their overall quality of life.

Palliative care at Warde is provided by highly trained physicians, nurses, social workers and other professionals. Each care plan is carefully designed to follow the patient’s wishes.

The moment you step out of the elevator, you’ll notice a few things.

First, our staff is always smiling with a friendly face ready to continually attend to your needs.

Straight ahead is the kitchen, where you’ll be served in our neighborhood-style dining area, with various culinary options and flexible meal schedules. Look to the left and you’ll see our community area where residents gather to socialize, enjoy special events or spend time with family.

Go down our hallways and you’ll see photos on the wall. When you come to Warde, you are family, and since this is your home, we want to proudly display your cherished memories, people and moments in time. Our floors are designed to be neighborhoods where family and friends are always welcome to visit.

You’re welcome to bring almost anything from home, such as your favorite pillow, photos of your family, your clothing, electronics, personal care items or even your own furniture. Your room comes equipped with Wi-Fi, phone and cable television, so you can stay connected with loved ones, the world around you or simply enjoy your favorite television program. Visitors – whether family or friends – are always welcome.

Resident safety and personalized attention, combined with compassionate care, is the foundation of high-quality healthcare at Warde. Both our resident and family satisfaction levels are well above industry standards.
